Stefano Marrone, representing the partner CINI (Italy) within the PERFORMINGRAIL consortium, will give a talk related to the topics addressed in PERFORMINGRAIL in mid-April, and thus contribute to the dissemination of project objectives and preliminary results.
Please find below additional information about the talk and the workshop where it will be held.
When: April 20th, 16.15 - 17.15 CET
Title: "Performance and safety challenges of the next generation railways."
Abstract: "As a part of its Green Deal, EU has set the objective to shift the 75% of inland freight carried today by road to rail and inland waterways. Such a goal requires new railway transportation paradigms (e.g., moving block and virtual coupling) that must face cutting-edge ICT-related technologies (e.g., fast and reliable communication and networking, fail-safe positioning, data-driven techniques). This talk introduces these railway paradigms, focusing on the non-functional and safety requirements future railways demand."
Venue: Workshop on Challenges in Performance Methods for Software Development (WOSP-C 2021, https://wosp-c-21.github.io/), co-located with the 12th ACM/SPEC International Conference on Performance Engineering (https://icpe2021.spec.org/).
